Excel Roofing & Asbestos

Excel replace garage roofs and take old garages away, right across England and Wales. We have run their Google Ads since March 2024 and have since grown their revenue 17x, on a lead flow steady enough to plan the business around.

How it happened

Until Mar 2024

Originally, Excel were bidding against themselves

They were running two Google Ads accounts at once, both bidding on the same searches, so Excel turned up twice in every auction and pushed its own price up.

The page people landed on had no reviews, no photos of finished jobs, and no clue what a garage might cost to take away.

Excel were never short of people who could do the work. The problem was upstream of them.
Mar 2024

So we rebuilt everything in one account

We ran one account instead of two, and built the page around what a worried homeowner actually wants to see: over 900 reviews counted from three places, before and after photos of real jobs, and nothing to pay until the garage is gone.

The form asks about the garage before it asks for a phone number, so by the time the sales team ring back they know the size and the postcode and the first conversation is a price.

The first 90 days blew us all away

515 leads came in on £9,136 of spend, which works out at £17.74 each. It is still the cheapest the account has ever run.

Photos went up on the page as the jobs came in, so the proof kept building on itself.

2024 to 2026

Then we grew the budget nine times over

Excel went from £2,600 a month on ads to £25,000, and the leads came with it every step of the way.

Scaling usually makes the numbers worse, because you start buying up the searches you had sensibly been ignoring. Here the page kept converting what the ads sent it.

Today

And today, the account generates £350,000 a month

18,196 leads have come through at an average of £26.02, and one in five becomes a booked job. Excel have gone from £250,000 of revenue a year to £350,000 a month, with six install teams on the road.

The limit now is not how many people are searching. It is how many roofs the vans can get to.
